So named because it is made entirely from scraps as well as pieces from old clothing.
The fabrics include red satin, red crepe-backed satin, dark blue crepe-backed satin, black chamois and 2 kinds of black lace.
It fastens at the back with a zip.
I made the Evangelion schooldresses for my year first semester 11 textiles project in 2005.
I gave Potetoes one for her b'day and we wore them to Manifest 2006.
The tops are made from white cotton shirting and the skirts are blue slightly stretchy fabric. The skirts were rather short and high waisted, which makes legs look super long.
I take no responsibility for my actions. I'm not entirely sure what happened, I'm sure when I designed this it didn't look anything like it does now. I'm undecided as to whether I actually like it or not.
The entire dress is made up of parts of old clothing.
The collar itself was purchased from a pet store, it is a basic black leather design with a buckle on the back and a D ring on the front.
The spikes came from a store in Melbourne called Smoke Dreams, they alternating in sizes of 1 inch and 1 & 1/2 inch.
This vest-top was made from scraps and pieces of other clothing.
It has a zip in the front, some eyelets for decoration and 4 D-rings in the back which chains and accessories can be attached to.
Poteto is Zim and I am Dib. We made our own costumes and wore them to Muck-up Day at school, because our school does costumes on Muck-up Day. We're sexy. It's like ZaDr only live!
Seras Hellsing uniform. I've made this costume twice, the first attempt failed. Badly. This is the the uniform from the first anime series, in the manga and second anime she wore a similar outfit in yellow with whte stockings.
I wore this to Animania 2007 with some friends who came as Alucard, Integra and Walter.
The green fabric is satin with a velvet floral print on it and the black is velvet.
It has a high collarand fastens by use of safety pins.
Made with thick mohair wool, fancy synthetic wool, some shredded lengths of lace and some elastic hair ties to tie them in. The lengths of wool are cut twice as long as I want them and doubled over.
There are two of them and they're quite heavy, I attached them by putting my normal hair into buns and tieing the falls over the buns.
I made these in school. The Jimjams have little owls and the words "Nite Owl" written on them.
The Tracky dacks have an aplique owl on the knee which I did myself using printed fabrics and the zig-zag stitch on the sewing machine.
I got some pattern paper from Lizz so I made a skirt, you know, to test it out.
It's made from soft cotton fabrics with 2 layers of tulle finished with ribbon under the skirt.
The gathering was done by hand and fixed in place by machine.
The lace was hand sewn to the hem.
I made the skirt out of red crepe backed satin and black velvet. It kicks up a little at the front.
I purchased the red top and added the sleeves and heart which were once a pair of pants.
The skirt was pants in a previous life.
The top was made in school when I was bored; the sides cross over at the front and they tie at the back.
There is a blue fat-cat on the corner which was cut from a piece of scrap pajyama fabric.
There is a buckle on the collar and a zip up the front. A flap pulls over the side and fastens with a clip on the corner and two buckles on the shoulder. The arms fold over in front and pass through a loop on the front and sides so they can't be lifted over head. The sleeves cross over the back and clip to rings on opposite sides. A strap goes between the legs and fastens at the front to prevent the jacket from being lifted over head.
This straitjacket was designed to be similar to the clinical type and functional. It was not designed for comfort, escape or the ability to be put on without help (if I could get it on alone I could probably remove it alone thus defeating the purpose).
It is made from cotton canvas and somewhat warmer to wear than I had originally anticipated.
