black white mens shirt
BW Mens Shirt
I made this shirt for Jun for Christmas '07. All black and white cotton fabric with a light weight fusable interfacing in the collar, sleeve tabs, pocket and button placket. Black stitching on the white, white stitching on the black. The buttons are my favorite, they're black with gray centres.

Hinata Hyuuga - Naruto
Animania '08. MaEmon came with me as Kiba. For Kiba I put the fur on the cuffs and hood of a store bought hoodie. MaEmon made 4 kunai, our shoes, Akamaru the dog and a headband/collar for me. The pants were my old school pants which I shortened, the singlet and fishnet were purchased. Made the coat from suede fabric and white fleece, the flame decal on the arms was painted with acrylics and sealed. I wore white contact lenses and styled my hair with gel and spray. People in the group photo are randoms we met there.
machine assessment 1 and 2
Machine Assessments 1 & 2
The first 2 assessments for machine class at TAFE;
a pencil skirt with invisible zip, welt pockets, blind hem and a split in the back and a shirt with buttoned cuffs, convertible collar, princess seam and side splits.
They might not be particularly pretty but at least they're technically correct. They're made as an Australian standard size 12. The whole class made the same things.
Purple & Blue Hair Falls Purple & Blue Hair Falls
Since I dyed my hair purple I can't exactly get away with black and white falls so I made a new set.
I've used 4 balls of yarn; 1 plain black thick type, 1 sparkly purple type, 1 with two different shades of purple and 1 blue fuzzy type. The yarns were cut into lengths using my forearm as a measurement and then plaited together fairly randomly. The plaits were finished by tieing a knot in the end and then trimming the loose ends of the yarns.
There are 47 plaits in each fall which have been doubled over putting it at 94. They're heavier than the black and white ones and also shorter. The yarns were all synthetic; polyester, acrylic and nylon.

Machine Assessment 3
The third machine assignment from TAFE last semester was a pair of shorts. They're pin-striped and a little tight on me.
They have the female style crotch (right over left), even though all pants these days have the male style crotch (left over right) which I guess is just to confuse anybody who tries to wear them. Like me.
They have square pockets and turned up cuffs, some people did two rows of stitching around the cuffs instead of turning them up, so they're not all exactly the same like the last 2 machine assignments.
I like these more than the other 2 machine assignments and would consider wearing them in public.
White Lace Headband
White Lace Headband
Decided to make a headband to wear with the outfit I'll be wearing to Amaranth '08.
It's made from two kinds of white lace and some white ribbon, with bells on either side and it's held onto the head with a strip of white elastic.

Machine Assessment 4
Oh gosh... the 4th machine assignment is the first for semester 2 2008.
It's really unflattering on me. It's round. Like pregnancy. And frilly. But I like the fabric, it's got decorative creasing in it so we had to be careful when pressing.
So what does it have? It's fully lined, has gathering under the bust, fastens in the back with an invisible zip and and a tie and has a baby-locked frill on the hem. lovely.
Princess Zelda Princess Zelda - the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess
This was my costume for Manifest 2008, it took around 10 months to make and turned out a lot better than I expected. Putting in the time and effort is well worth it.
The ears were purchased from Aradani Costumes, they are the unpainted high elf ears. I also purchased small bottles of flesh latex and spirit gum for attaching and blending, I also used some make-up to blend them to my natural skin tone.
Zelda Details Zelda costume details
Close-up shots of some of the details on my Zelda costume.
The details on the skirt and bodice were hand painted and all the armor pieces were hand sculpted and painted. The gloves themselves were purchased and I made the decorative sleeves to go over them.
Zelda Wig Zelda costume wig
The wig was purchased from Wigs Online and it is the Lady Godiva style. I styled the wig myself with a combination of hair ties, craft glue and hair spray. The tiara was hand sculpted by me.
Zelda Sword Zelda costume sword
I purchased a toy sword from a junk shop, removed the hilt and hand sculpted my own with a combination of the same modeling paste I used for the armor and tiara on my costume as well as a lot of hot glue.
It was then hand painted and sealed.
I was worried it would be delicate and break but the modeling paste is a little more plasticky than clay and it is actually very sturdy.
Black and White
Black and White
Featuring my black and white lace skirt, black and white hair falls and white lace headband. The blouse and shoes came from an opp-shop and the corset came from Victorian Gothic Couture.
Jun and I were both in full black and white for the Amaranth Anime Ball 2008.
Nick's Shirt Nick's Shirt
I made this shirt for my brother Nick for his 22nd birthdax. It is red and black and made from linen. The red is pure linen but the black would appear to have some type of synthetic in it.
Yes, he is holding a red onion in the photos. Why? I do not know.
Dib Dib - Invader Zim
I re-visited my Dib costume to wear to Armageddon 2008 on the Saturday, when I was working there judging the AMV competition.
Everything was purchased and I drew the face for the T-shirt in Adobe Photoshop and ironed it on with transfer paper. My hair was styled with a lot of hairspray and gel.

Machine Assessment 5
The 5th machine assignment for TAFE in my first year was this suit jacket, it is fully lined, has double jetted pockets, a revere collar and a "fitted" shape (though was constructed from an Australian standard size 12 block so while it may fit me ok it isn't specifically fitted to anybody in particular).
The buttons are hand sewn on as the button machine wasn't working. It has a keyhole button hole on the front.
